Today we’d like to introduce to you a brand that recently started out and is already decorating the homes of many. Nhoye London - hand poured soy wax sculptural candles with beautiful shapes that make the perfect additions to your interior. Here’s their story.
Could you please introduce yourself to our readers and tell us a bit about what you do?
My name is Mihaela and I’m a social media content creator, social media manager and candle-maker as of recently!
How did you start making candles?
It started as a hobby - myself and my flatmate were seeing all these beautiful sculptural candles on social media and we thought why don’t we try to make them ourselves. By the time we got all the supplies and started making and testing the candles, we knew it wasn’t going to be just a hobby. We are really enjoying the process of combining different colours with scents to create a special mood and we now offer customers the option to personalise their candles with a colour and scent of their choice.

What inspires you?
Everyday experiences and people! As you can imagine I spend a lot of time on social media so I naturally get inspired by what’s happening around me.
Where does the name of the brand come from?
Oh, we’ve kept this a secret so far! Actually no one ever asked until now. Me and my friend Irina who I started the brand with call each other honey, so we scrambled the letters and came up with the name. It sounds unusual and it has a special meaning. Also, all of our candle’s names being with N - Naia, Nymphe, Nhobu and the latest one Narcisse.
What did you find most challenging when starting your own brand/business?
There are a lot of challenges when starting your own brand or business but I think trying to figure everything out by yourself, and not having someone to go to for advice/support when you need it, was the most challenging for me. Google and YouTube certainly make things easier but unlike school or uni, you can’t turn to your teacher for help when you get stuck.
What are the next steps for Nhoye?
We’re constantly looking into expanding our range and will be launching our own website very soon. We’ve also had discussions about expanding the range to include other handmade objects but we’re taking things one step at a time as we both juggle this and our full-time jobs.

Could you tell us about your other creative projects? You have been very successful with your 30-day of Winter Outfit series, so maybe you could share a bit more about that?
I’ve been a content creator for a few years but the past year has really allowed me to grow and work on brand partnerships that I’m really proud of. I recently created an outfit series on my Instagram account https://www.instagram.com/mihaelanedeva and TikTok https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMehpkyE3/ which allowed me to grow both channels in a short period of time. I’m currently working on two more series: recreating my favourite Pinterest outfits and spring outfits and I can’t wait to share more soon.
A special surprise for our readers today is the fact that you will be launching your candle range through our website from today. Is there anything in particular they should be looking forward to?
Yes, there is! We would love to offer 10% off our candles for the first week as an introduction to our brand. Use code CANDLE10 to claim your discount.
